Cody & Satori

Cody Ray DesBiens and Satori Hawes, known collectively as “The Paranormal Couple,” are a husband-and-wife team of paranormal investigators, researchers, authors, and curators who have dedicated their lives to exploring the unexplained. Best known for their appearances on Travel Channel and Discovery’s Ghost Hunters and Ghost Nation, as well as paranormal investigations viewed by millions across social media and YouTube, Cody and Satori have developed a shared passion for investigating the unknown, preserving unusual histories, and helping those who have experienced things they cannot explain.

Both are investigators with TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society), the renowned paranormal research organization founded in 1990 by Satori’s father, Jason Hawes. Cody & Satori are also involved with RISEUP (the Rhode Island Society for the Examination of Unusual Phenomena). Through years of investigating reportedly haunted locations, private residences, and unexplained occurrences, they have encountered countless individuals and families searching for answers.

But somewhere along the way, what began as a shared interest in the paranormal became something much more personal.

A Connection Beyond the Ordinary

After working together on several TAPS investigations, Cody and Satori discovered that their connection extended far beyond their mutual fascination with the unexplained. As their relationship grew, they began experiencing something they had never encountered quite the same way before.

When physically connected, the two found that they appeared to have the ability to establish intelligent communication with what they believe are spirits or individuals who have passed away.

Unlike traditional psychic or mediumistic experiences, in which information is often received privately by one individual, Cody and Satori’s method involves a series of audible knocking or tapping sounds that others present can hear for themselves. Through this process, they receive direct, intelligent responses to questions, sometimes resulting in deeply personal and emotional exchanges.

For Cody and Satori, these experiences have opened the door to a greater understanding of what may exist beyond this life. Their encounters have also given them opportunities to share meaningful messages with individuals seeking comfort, understanding, or a sense of connection with loved ones who have passed.

While the nature and origins of these experiences remain open to interpretation, the impact they have had on Cody and Satori’s lives is undeniable.

What began as two investigators working side by side eventually grew into a lifelong partnership. Today, Cody and Satori are married, continuing to share not only their love for one another but also their passion for exploring life’s greatest mysteries.

The Paranormal Couple’s Haunted Museum

Beyond their work as investigators, Cody and Satori are the founders and curators of The Paranormal Couple’s Haunted Museum of Objects, Oddities, and Curiosities, established in 2019.

What began with just a handful of reportedly haunted objects entrusted to them by former clients has grown into an extraordinary collection of more than 500 objects and artifacts from around the world, each with its own history, reputation, and story.

As their presence grew through television, public appearances, and social media platforms such as TikTok, so did the museum. Individuals from across the country, and around the world, began reaching out to share their experiences and offer objects they believed to be associated with unexplained activity.

Today, the collection includes reportedly haunted dolls, personal belongings, alleged spirit attachments, ritual and occult objects, unusual historical artifacts, true crime memorabilia, and other curiosities with fascinating or unsettling pasts.

Some objects entered the collection after their former owners experienced frightening or unexplained activity. Others were donated by individuals who simply wanted them placed in the hands of people willing to preserve their histories and tell their stories.

For Cody and Satori, the museum is about much more than collecting unusual or supposedly haunted items. It is about preserving the stories, experiences, and people connected to them.

They believe that even the most ordinary object can carry an extraordinary history, and that these histories deserve to be documented rather than forgotten.

Preserving the Past, Exploring the Unknown

One of the most important aspects of Cody and Satori’s work is helping individuals who feel uncomfortable, frightened, or overwhelmed by objects in their possession.

Rather than allowing these objects to be discarded, destroyed, or forgotten, Cody and Satori offer an opportunity for their stories to be preserved. Through research, documentation, and careful handling, they work to better understand the circumstances surrounding each item and the experiences reported by those who previously owned it.

Their mission is not simply to determine whether an object is haunted, but to explore the larger questions surrounding it. Can an object retain a connection to a person or place? Why do certain possessions become associated with unexplained phenomena? And what can the stories behind these items teach us about history, human experience, and our understanding of the unknown?

These questions continue to shape their work and the ever-growing museum collection.

Through traveling exhibitions, paranormal conventions, public presentations, and special events, Cody and Satori bring selected pieces from their museum directly to audiences, giving visitors the opportunity to encounter the objects firsthand, learn about their histories, and hear the remarkable accounts that brought them into the collection.

Their presentations explore haunted and trigger objects, reported spiritual attachments, investigative experiences, and the responsibilities that come with preserving items believed to have paranormal significance.

Beyond the Investigations

Cody and Satori’s passion for storytelling also extends beyond television and public appearances.

Together, they are the authors of Archives of the Paranormal: Case Files from The Paranormal Couple’s Haunted Museum, a book that invites readers deeper into the museum’s collection through detailed accounts of unusual objects, their reported activity, and the circumstances that brought them into Cody and Satori’s care.

They also continue to expand the museum’s online presence, offering supporters access to exclusive case files, behind-the-scenes content, interactive experiences, and a closer look at the investigations and histories that make up their ever-growing archive.

Whether they’re exploring an allegedly haunted location, researching the origins of a mysterious artifact, meeting visitors at an event, or documenting another unusual experience, Cody and Satori remain committed to approaching the unexplained with curiosity, compassion, and respect for those involved.

A Life Dedicated to the Unexplained

For Cody and Satori, the paranormal is more than a shared interest or profession. It has become an inseparable part of their lives together.

What started as two investigators crossing paths has grown into a marriage, a museum, and a shared mission to explore the mysteries that continue to challenge our understanding of the world around us.

Through their investigations, unique experiences, and dedication to preserving reportedly haunted objects, they hope to encourage others to remain curious, ask questions, and consider the possibilities of what may exist beyond what we can see or explain.

Because behind every unexplained experience is a story. Behind every object is a history. And sometimes, the most extraordinary discoveries begin with simply being willing to listen.
